Part weight loss narrative, part bad luck with love story, part "I'm much more witty than the rest of the world" snark piece, it just wasn't my cup of tea. I wanted to like it much more than I did. It was very highly recommended to me and I had high hopes. The author isn't a bad writer and the book itself isn't "bad." It's more that the author's style of storytelling just doesn't do it for me. I should have known this since I've tried to read her blog on several occasions (again based on recommendations) but I've never been able to get into it.
