A Healthy Appetite
As I mentioned before I made a commitment to myself this summer to change my health, my body, my life. A couple months in to those changes I'm very pleased to say that I'm doing good work, seeing good progress and feeling really good in mind, body and spirit. My eating habits, preferences and tastes have very much changed. A healthy balanced diet is less like work and more like second nature now. Knowing what exactly is going into my body is much more important than simply finding something that tastes really good. Exercise is a part of my life. It's neither a great pleasure nor a great pain, it's simply an important part of my life that I take care to maintain and pursue.
One of the pleasures of this change in life and lifestyle is all the knowledge that I've come across that I really never had before. Portion sizes, digestive information, how parts of the body work, really wonderful healthy foods, not so healthy but not so horrible really wonderful foods, are all things I know about now that I didn't know before. Some of the information was very easy to find, it just took a little looking around. Some of the information didn't come so easily. Either I had to really search for it, found it by accident or it came to me as first person knowledge. I have so much information floating around in my brain about food, exercise, drinking water, recipes and all things health, weight and fitness related that I've just got to do something with it. Naturally I've started another blog.
Called A Healthy Appetite, it's where I'll write about food and exercise, health and weight, fitness and frustration.
Part recipe box, part product review notebook, part exercise journal, part public accountability stage, part Weight Watchers for a more hipster-inclined set, A Healthy Appetite is where Michelle Jones writes about food, exercise, health and things related to all three.
I'll share recipes, nutritional information, personal stories about my life changes and my struggles as well as passing along any helpful info I find. There is a wealth of knowledge about these topics on the internet and I'm eternally grateful for all that I found. I want to return the favor and put more knowledge out there, organize what's already there and hopefully develop a very helpful resource. If the intersection of good food, fitness and health interests you I do hope you'll check it out.
